Benzac AC 5 Wash Tube 100 g

✅ What it is

• It contains 5 g of benzoyl peroxide per 100 g (i.e., a 5% formulation) for topical use.

• It is a wash-off treatment (i.e., you apply to the skin, leave for ~30 seconds and rinse) intended for the treatment of acne vulgaris on face and larger body-areas (chest, back, shoulders).
• The base is aqueous gel, so it’s designed to be less irritating than some leave-on products.

📝 How to use

• Before applying: clean and dry the skin. Then apply a suitable amount to affected areas only, avoiding eyes, eyelids, mouth, angles of nose, and other mucous membranes.

• Rub in gently with fingertips and leave for ~30 seconds, then rinse off with water. Pat dry.
• Use once or twice daily depending on skin tolerance. If skin becomes dry, red or starts peeling you may reduce to once a day or every second day until your skin adjusts.
• Avoid strong sunlight exposure while using, or use a suitable sunscreen and/or use it in the evening.

⚠️ Important cautions & side-effects

• For external use only. Keep out of reach of children.

• Because it contains benzoyl peroxide (BP), it may cause skin dryness, redness, peeling, especially in early use. This is expected but if severe you should stop and consult a professional.
• Benzoyl peroxide can bleach fabrics (towels, pillowcases, hair, dyed fabrics) so use caution. > From user experience: “Be primed to have your clothes, towels, and sheets speckled with tie-dye style bleach spots !!!”
• If pregnant, thinking of becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding: consult your doctor/pharmacist before use.
