Royal Pharmacy in Pietermaritzburg recognizes TB Awareness month

Royal Pharmacy in Pietermaritzburg is collaborating with Dr Amod this #march to spread awareness of #TB.

TB and HIV place a large burden on the healthcare system in South Africa. Taking steps to prevent TB can help decrease the load. Some steps to prevent TB include:

• Maintaining good ventilation, especially in small spaces with many people. Keeping windows open and using fans help circulate the air around you.
• Cover your mouth when coughing or cough into your elbow.
• Maintain good hygiene-wash your hands frequently.
• Do your best to maintain a healthy immune system. If you are living with HIV, ensure that you take your medication daily and on time. This is essential for a healthy immune system.
